Start an unsecured personal loan request.
Use 1500Loans to request funds without starting with a pledged asset. Review the repayment estimate and confirm collateral and guarantee terms in any final agreement.
Review collateral conditionsUnsecured means no specified asset secures the debt
An unsecured loan generally does not pledge a particular car, home, or deposit account as collateral. The borrower still agrees to repay under the contract. A creditor may assess credit history, income, existing obligations, and other criteria; “unsecured” does not mean no review, no consequences for missed payments, or guaranteed approval. A contract can also contain a co-signer, autopay authorization, or other terms that deserve separate attention.
1500Loans lets people submit borrowing preferences online. It does not establish that any resulting offer is unsecured. Use the request form only after reviewing its disclosures, then inspect the creditor's written agreement for any collateral or guarantee language before accepting.

Check what stands behind the agreement.
- Collateral
- Confirm that the actual agreement does not pledge your vehicle, home or another asset.
- Responsibility
- Check whether a guarantor or co-borrower would also become liable.
- Repayment
- Unsecured borrowing still requires repayment and may involve credit review.
Check the difference between a promise to repay and a pledged asset
| Question | Unsecured structure | Secured structure |
|---|---|---|
| Asset pledged? | Typically no named asset secures the debt | A contract identifies collateral |
| What to review? | APR, fees, payment schedule, default provisions | All those terms plus lien, repossession, or foreclosure provisions as applicable |
| Does structure guarantee approval? | No | No |
| What does missing a payment mean? | Can still trigger fees, collection, or credit consequences under law and contract | May also put pledged collateral at risk under contract and law |
These are general distinctions, not a description of any specific offer. Ask the named creditor whether collateral or a guarantor is required.
Evaluate the payment as an unsecured debt obligation
Because no named asset is pledged, do not skip the cost review. Compare the amount you will actually receive with the amount you must repay. If an origination fee is withheld, a $1,500 principal could deliver less than $1,500 while repayment is still calculated from the contractual principal. Compare APR, payment count, due dates, total payments, late charges, and the effect of paying early.
Stress-test the payment against a month with a lower paycheck or an unexpected bill. An unsecured payment is still a required claim on future income. If the budget only works when nothing goes wrong, lower the request, negotiate the expense, or wait if possible.
Separate collateral questions from credit and income questions
Unsecured products often depend on the creditor's assessment of ability and willingness to repay, but methods and thresholds differ. A credit inquiry can be soft or hard depending on stage and consent. Income is not the same as take-home cash after fixed obligations; list rent, utilities, minimum debt payments, and other recurring costs honestly. Neither a good score nor a stated income alone guarantees a particular result.
- Ask what credit report or score model, if any, may be used.
- Check whether a co-applicant changes responsibility for the full debt.
- Confirm whether any optional credit product is included in the payment.
- Read how default, collections, and disputes are handled.
Read the security and default clauses in the actual contract
Before signing, look for sections labeled collateral, security interest, guarantor, co-borrower, default, remedies, and payment authorization. The marketing word “unsecured” should match the operative agreement. If the document refers to a lien, a security interest in an account, or a co-signer, ask the creditor to explain the exact obligation and consequences. Keep the answer in writing.
Only an actual creditor can confirm its offer structure. 1500Loans does not promise that an unsecured product, rate, amount, or approval will be returned for a request.
Questions about unsecured borrowing
Does unsecured mean no credit check?
No. Unsecured describes collateral structure, not whether a creditor checks a credit report or other information. Read the creditor's inquiry and consent terms.
Can an unsecured loan still affect my credit?
Depending on the creditor and applicable reporting practices, an inquiry, account, or missed payment may be reported. Ask the creditor what it reports and read the agreement.
Does 1500Loans guarantee an unsecured offer?
No. The site accepts request preferences; it does not guarantee a creditor, product structure, rate, approval, or funding.
Can an unsecured loan still require a co-signer?
Some creditors may request a co-signer or co-borrower. Check the offer because that person may take on repayment responsibility under the agreement.
